AML policy
Draft. This document is under legal review and may change before launch.
Version of 25 October 2026. Operator: ETHPAID LLC.
1. Principle
ETHPAID does not hold or transfer client funds on its own behalf. We nevertheless do not allow the service to be used for money laundering, terrorist financing or sanctions evasion.
2. Merchant checks (KYB)
2.1. On onboarding: country, website or channel, type of business, confirmation that no prohibited category applies. 2.2. The Merchant and its wallets are screened against sanctions lists (OFAC SDN, EU consolidated list, UN) and issuer blacklists (Tether, Circle). 2.3. Enhanced checks (registration documents, beneficial owners) apply to high volumes or risk indicators.
3. Payment monitoring
3.1. Payer addresses are screened against the OFAC sanctions list (updated daily). A payment from such an address is not forwarded automatically; the Merchant and the operator are notified and the decision follows the law. 3.2. Merchant wallets are checked for issuer blocking every 6 hours. 3.3. Indicators of suspicious activity: structuring, sudden volume spikes, mismatch with the business profile.
4. Prohibited categories
Drugs and controlled substances; weapons and ammunition; child sexual abuse material and any illegal adult content; unlicensed gambling; pyramid schemes and “investments” with guaranteed returns; crypto exchangers, mixers and anonymising services; counterfeit documents and goods; data theft, hacking, malware; human trafficking; terrorist financing; any goods and services illegal in the Merchant’s or buyer’s country; sanctioned persons and jurisdictions.
5. Record keeping
Check and payment records — 5 years.
